IT-Services: Deutsche Mittelstandsfinanz advises on the sale of frobese GmbH to Norwegian Data Respons AS
Frankfurt / Høvik / Hannover, 13th January 2021 Deutsche Mittelstandsfinanz (www.dmfin.com) from Frankfurt, which specialises in company sales and succession planning for medium-sized companies, advised the shareholders of frobese GmbH, Hanover, on the sale of their shares to Data Respons AS, Høvik, Norway, a subsidiary of the Belgian-French IT group AKKA Technologies SE. Deutsche Mittelstandsfinanz acted as exclusive M&A consultant to the shareholders of frobese GmbH in the transaction.
frobese GmbH is a leading IT service provider for banks and insurance companies in Northern Germany. The company's core competencies include software development, business intelligence, IT expert consulting and the organisation, rollout and operation of complex IT infrastructures. With its subsidiary frobese IT AKADEMIE GmbH, frobese boasts its own human resources development company.
Data Respons provides R&D engineering services, software and hardware development, and smart embedded IoT solutions for a wide range of industries. With 1,400 employees, Data Respons generates a turnover of approximately €200 m. Since a public takeover bid in 2020, Data Respons has been part of AKKA Technologies SE (22,000 employees, €1.8 bn turnover), listed on EURONEXT Paris.
Through the acquisition of frobese GmbH, the fast-growing Data Respons AS is expanding its activities in the area of IT consulting for financial services companies.
Together with its new shareholder Data Respons, frobese GmbH, founded in 1998, is able to implement its next growth steps even faster. frobese GmbH remains under the leadership of its founder, Dr Dirk Frobese.

The agreed transaction structure includes components that enable the prior shareholders to continue to participate in the future success of frobese GmbH. At the same time, the transaction has already laid the foundation for corporate succession in the long term.
