Gerhard Schempp

After his Abitur (German A levels), Gerhard Schempp obtained his University degree in math with focus on computer science at the TU München (Technical University of Munich, Germany). In 1977, Mr. Schempp started his career at Softlab GmbH, since 1981 Division Manager “Industrial Systems.” From 1988 until 1992 at DIGITAL Equipment, lastly Sales Manager “Manufacturing Southwest Germany,” than transition to CSC, since 1996 Managing Director at CSC Deutschland GmbH as well as Chief Representative at CSC Ploenzke AG. From 01.01.1999 until 31.12.2013 Chairman of the Board of ESG Elektroniksystem- and Logistik- GmbH, which he developed to become a leading software and systems supplier for electronics and logistics in the defence, aviation and automotive industry with subsidiaries inter alia in the US, China and France. Today, he works as a Senior Advisor “Strategy and Software” for technology companies in the aviation and automotive field.

Association activities until 12/2013: Board member of the professional association security within the ZVEI (German Central Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry), management in the leading market of defence (former “Fachverband Wehrtechnik,” which is the German professional association of defence technology) and board member of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Sicherheits- und Verteidigungsindustrie e.V. (BDSV), which is the German federal association of the security and defence industry, where he was the spokesperson of the German Mittelstand, electronics or information and communication technology, respectively:

Since May 2014, he is president of the German Association for Defence Technology (DWT e.V.)
